As of last night, the Bossier Parish School Board has decided to change our start date. Why? Because a bunch of whinny parents got together and complained their kids get too hot on the bus. Which let me say, they get water bottles and buses do have windows and some even with air...but the parents went around getting signatures and all and then attended the meeting last night. According to one source I talked to, she said it wouldn't get changed. BUT for some unknown reason, it did. SO instead of August 6.....we now start August 25. Keep in mind, its still HOT through September. My kids survived all 7 years!! Three whole months of summer vacation. And how many kids will say...."I'm bored." The twins were not happy about it as they didn't want to be in school on their birthday. Stephen's reply was...."thats not fair, I am suppose to have the longer summer." He moves in August 16. I guess we will all be able to help him move in.:)
I guess though we have been going to school too much...go figure. So they will ONLY have to add 4 days...yes I said 4 days. Then add it to the end of the school year and we get out the end of May. They are looking at maybe adding time to the school day. We will see.
